A few of you know that I have been trying to get over there to Santo Domingo. My friend Anthony over there at www.monaga.net keeps me informed on all areas of this country. I will be contacting him about my travels. He is great with info if you are going that way. Check out his blog for the eye candy...LOL. Anyway, I was having dinner last night at my best friend's house when he had this dude from Santo Domingo visiting. This dude was beautiful like he was formed from the red clay of Georgia.
Very nice dude. He taught me a little Spanish. I learned dog, cat, girl, boy, man, woman, horse and car. I learned how to understand them in a sentence. We talked about his country and he took me to his country in the spirit. He told me the good, the bad and the ugly about the people and visitors. But I could have told him the same things about the people and visitors of any city in the U.S.A.
He told me that the things that we consider nothing is great to them. He told me that if I came over with some bath wash and had a man friend visiting...he said that there is a chance that when he leave my bath wash will be missing. That was just an example that he used to show me how bath wash is not important to me but is a treasure to them.
I have put this island on my "things to do" this year. I have been all around this island but never stopped. I also wanna visit Haiti. This island is on the backside of DR. There is so much I am going to do this year.
After talking and drinking with him until the wee hours of the morning...I got up excited about reading about this place. I went straight to Anthony's blog and got educated.
So, I was going to borrow some pictures from him to post on my blog but I would rather for you to go over there and see for yourself....that's all I gotta say....ENJOY!

Hey man, I have been to the DR before and it is all that and a bag of chips. Hung out at Boca Chica for the day and was simply memorized by candy parade. Let me know when you are going, I would definitely do this again......
You will never regret a trip to the D.R. And Anthony is the ultimate host. Words from experience.
